Professional learning needs to be driven by student and teacher needs, rooted in high quality research evidence and have a measurable impact. That is why Leading Learning works with schools to develop coaching, lesson study and action research. We have extensive experience of running in-school staff training or bespoke courses on a range of pupil learning needs as well as using our ‘lead learners’ programme to promote the effective leadership and facilitation of professional learning.

We are currently busy working with teachers and subject leaders in a number of primary schools in the North East helping them to plan their humanities curriculum. We are modelling how to plan a unit of work that will engage and enthuse pupils while developing knowledge, understanding and skills from Year 1 to Year 6. For more than two decades Leading Learning has worked on planning and developing teaching resources and programmes of study that promote thinking and metacognition especially in humanities so given the current focus on foundation subjects in primary schools we are well placed to help your staff develop their expertise.
